Dr. Ogo Okoye-Johnson is a dynamic, visionary, results-oriented educator and writer. Ogo, as a seasoned and avid multicultural practitioner, recognizes the essential relationship between the cultural background of students and their academic success. Her years of research on multicultural education and her practical experience in the field of education as a teacher, principal, blogger and a college assistant professor bolster her belief in the importance of multiculturalism and diversity in the schools and in the larger society. Ogo is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Noon Productions, a Media Production and Publishing Company, which published her first book, “Oma, the faithful daughter”.
She has published scholarly articles on multicultural education and racial attitudes, and on Standard English Learners. She has presented papers from personal research at conferences in the US and abroad. She also created programs designed to assist teachers in understanding the various learning styles of their students from a multicultural perspective. Her scholarly research and articles have been cited many times and most recently to justify the development and offering of ethnic studies courses to students in the San Diego School District. She holds a Ph.D. in Urban Services/Urban Education with expertise in instructional leadership, curriculum writing and staff development.
